Method Man and Redman on their newest releases
In his latest album, 4:21, The Day After, Method Man lets lyrics flow about cannabis. Asked about the name of the album, Meth commented “The national weed smoking day is 4/20, so I named my album 4/21 the day after. Because after that day, you have this moment of clarity when you’re not high and you see things clearly.”
Redman has fresh rhymes from his own recent release, The Dark Side, which gets inside his own head as it gets stuck in yours. “Everybody’s got a dark side, but they don’t let it come out by pretending and grinning up in your face, and when they get home, they’re on a whole different note,” says Redman. “It wasn’t about no gimmick. It’s strictly real. The shit is dark but it’s still funky.”
Red Rocks in April
A trip to Red Rocks may be the literal high point of World Cannabis Week — it sits in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Front Range at an elevation of 6,450 feet (more than 1,000 feet higher than the city of Denver). Views of the city and the night sky are good any day, and simply dazzling on 4/20. Wondering if you can light up right there in the crowd? Check out or 420-friendly Red Rocks concert-going tips.
At that altitude, it’s important to drink lots of water and bundle up in layers for when the temperature drops. In springtime in Colorado, the weather could do anything. Be prepared for what feels like an early summer night or a mid-winter snow storm. As an outdoor venue, Red Rocks is subject to weather conditions, whether it’s rain, snow, or shine. In fact, 410 Eve On The Rocks is the very first show of the 2017 concert season.
World Cannabis Week Events
The cannabis holiday falls on a Thursday this year, surrounded by a full week of festivities. World Cannabis Week draws weed lovers and weed professionals alike to Denver to celebrate what is known as “the SXSW of Cannabis”.
As with all World Cannabis Events, the best way to experience them is with your favorite strain close at hand and a safe means of transport. Check out the Free 420 Shuttle Ride to get around town and hit the 420 highlights like the Bazaar and the 420 Rally at Civic Center Park.
